Chris "The Fish" stages big comeback to clinch the October Grand Slam
FHM-010 saw Mike jump out to a 4-1 lead at the break which was against the form book. Again the averages were below both player's best but it didn't stop Chris firing after the break to stage an October winning Grand Slam comeback, taking 6 of the next 7 legs for a 7-5 win.If there was any consolation for Mike it was his best checkout average to date of 12.2%. Chris recorded another 140 to stay well ahead in that high score table
7-3... Chris "The Fish" on the verge of the October Grand Slam
FHM-009 followed the usual pattern with Chris out to a 5-0 lead by the break. Mike then won 3 of the next 4 legs to pull it back to 3-6. However Chris finished out easily to take yet another win and take his winning streak to 9 in a row, which is every Matchplay since this tournament started!That aside the averages were again below par, the only stat of note being Chris adding another 140 to his tally.
Deja Vu: Chris "The Fish" takes another 7-2 win in a slugfest...
FHM-008 turned out to be a drawn out affair with both players recording their worst averages to date (Chris 37.2, Mike 34.1). Chris also had his worst checkout % to date (11.5% - but still better than Mike's best ever in the Matchplay). But all this didn't stop Chris running off to a 5-0 lead at the break. Post break Mike hit back with 2 legs but it was a 'false dawn' as Chris finished the next two legs for yet another 7-2 win. Chris is on target for the October Grand Slam with 2 for 2 Matchplays so far. If there was any consolation at all for Mike it was in the fact that he recorded the highest finish of the day (70) to move into the Top Five Finishes table.
Chris "The Fish" on target again - The unbeaten run continues!
Chris "The Fish" carried on where he left off in August with yet another 7-2 win against Mike "Rocky II" in FHM-007. Due to Mike being unavailable throughout September and the first week of October means this month will be a Grand Slam month (4 Matchplays). So Chris his on his way with the first Matchplay of the month under his belt. Chris was never threatened in this game running out to a 6-0 lead before Mike pulled 2 legs back. Chris wrapped it up easily in the ninth leg. Both players were a bit rusty after the weeks away from competition, which the averages and checkout percentages showed (Chris 43.8 and 17.9%, Mike 40.1 and 6.7%)
Wham Bam! The August Super Slam is 'owned' by Chris "The Fish"
Chris "The Fish" blew past Mike "Rocky II" with a 7-2 win in FHM-006. This means Chris claimed the first ever Super Slam (5 matches in a row during a calendar month) up for grabs for August. Mike was unable to stem the the tide of wins that Chis has been racking up despite producing his best average to date (44.9). In fact both players produced their best averages to date. Chris was just short of hitting the 50 mark with a 48.8 average.More records fell in this match as Chris also set a new a highest checkout (106) and a new highest checkout average (23.3%).Unfortunately due to the hospitalisation for surgery and the subsequent recovery period for Mike, the Matchplay has been suspended until further notice. But Mike is hoping to come back firing ASAP.
Four in a row in August for "The Fish"... the Super Slam is on!
Chris "The Fish" again cruised to a win in FHM-005 and Mike "Rocky II' just avoided another whitewash. The 7-1 win meant Chris is on track to bag the August Super Slam (5 Matchplays in a row). Chris had some power play patches in this match hitting 2 x 140s and goes to the top in that leaderboard, and as the score suggests he was always in control. His highest checkout of 52 also means he now occupies all top 5 spots in the highest checkout table.
"The Fish" stays unbeaten. No end in site for his winning streak!
Chris "The Fish" was on target again with a 7-2 win in FHM-004. Mike "Rocky II" avoided a third straight whitewash, but only just. Chris went into the break 6-0 up, however Mike scrambled to win the next two legs post break. 6-2. It was a false dawn though as Chris took the ninth leg to bag the 7-2 win. Chris's scoring and doubling has remained consistent throughout the series so far and he again took the highest finish in this match with a 59 checkout.
"The Fish" snags three Matchplays on the trot with another whitewash!
It was deja-vu for Chris "The Fish" as he powered on to another Matchplay 7-0 win in FHM-003. Back to back 'whitewashes' made it 3 wins in a row for Chris with Mike "Rocky II" again off the pace. Chris is now 2 wins into the August Super Slam, and Mike is going to have to dig deep to stop Chris completing it because he is looking like a runaway train at this point...
Forrest Hill Matchplay 002... "The Fish" cruises to back to back wins
Chris "The Fish" powered to a back to back Matchplay win 7-0 in the FHM-002 edition. The 'whitewash' was effortless for Chris with Mike "Rocky II" under-performing, averaging well under 40 for the match. Chris was consistent throughout and early on looked like his average might end up in the high 40s. His two dart 100 checkout in leg 3 was a highlight. This was the first Matchplay game in the August Super Slam. Based on this result, Chris will take some stopping...

Two new titles incorporated into the Matchplay series have been confirmed . They are:
Grand Slam Winner - a player who wins all 4 Matchplays when there are 4 match days in the same month
Super Slam Winner - a player who wins all 5 Matchplays when there are 5 match days in the same month
Chris "The Fish" reels in the inaugural KDC Forrest Hill Matchplay...
Chris "The Fish" snagged the first ever KDC Forrest Hill Matchplay Championship with a tense 7-6 victory over Mike "Rocky II". The match was a 'tit for tat' affair with neither player ever more than one leg ahead. Early on Mike went out to a 3-2 lead but crucially Chris made it 3-3 going into the break. After the break Chris jumped in front 4-3 and it was then leg for leg with Mike snatching the 12th leg to make it 6-6 and have it go down to the wire. As Chris had won the bullseye to start the match he threw first in the 13th leg which gave him the advantage... and he didn't let it slip, finishing out the leg with the highest checkout of the match, a 69.
